Halifax House Sales Remained Slow in Second Quarter 2013

The new mortgage rules aren’t the only thing putting a damper on house sales in Halifax, Nova Scotia. An extra rainy spring is also to blame!

Yes, Nova Scotia’s infamous eternal spring seems to have caused a slower start to what is normally a busy season for buying homes and property in Halifax. Understandably so; Halifax’s dreary spring isn’t exactly the inspiration inspiration home buyers look for to get out and shop for a new house, condo, or property.

Incidentally, Halifax house prices in the second quarter of 2013 showed a moderate increase. Have a look at this article from the Chronicle Herald. It further explains this trend as well as the increase in housing starts in Halifax between January and June of this year.
